Cal/EPA Environmental Management Systems Innovation Initiative
Purpose of the Southern California Working Group
- Provide a forum for learning about and influencing Pilot Project EMSs.
- Explore the benefits of EMSs, especially in providing better environmental performance and better information to stakeholders.
- Develop a common knowledge of EMSs amongst stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on communication to communities.
- Examine public policy issues.
Each proposed pilot project has a local and/or regional advisory group to provide input from key interested parties. Members of the local and regional advisory groups are from local, regional and state government (as well as federal where appropriate), non-governmental organizations, academia, and business sectors.
