Enforcement Steering Committee
Lead: Matt Bogoshian, Deputy Secretary for Law Enforcement and counsel

The Enforcement Steering Committee (PDF) was established to plan and manage the continuing improvement and coordination of California’s state, regional and local Environmental Enforcement programs, to more effectively and efficiently meet the state’s environmental goals.

Single Complaint Tracking System
Lead: Sue Laney (DTSC)

The Cal/EPA Single Complaint Tracking System and the Single Complaint Tracking System Steering Committee (PDF) were established as the governing structure for how Cal/EPA Boards, Departments and Office will receive, track, and respond to environmental complaints reported to Cal/EPA and its Boards, Departments and Offices.

Enforcement Program Operational Plan
Lead: Larry Matz, Cal/EPA Unified Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Materials Program

The Enforcement Program Operational Plan (PDF) is intended to establish a common framework for continued development of the necessary legal, policy and administrative enforcement program enhancements.

Cal/EPA Wide Data Dictionary
Lead: Ron Troyer (DTSC)

The goal is to reconcile data elements between programs (PDF). The first effort has been to compare data elements used to identify regulated activities across all BDOs. This effort is intended to act as a pilot in much larger project to reconcile all data elements collected within Cal/EPA BDOs and local government.

Environmental Data Exchange
Lead: John Yonemura, California Environmental Protect Agency

Cal/EPA has made it a high priority to improve data sharing among its Boards, Departments, and Offices. The Environmental Data Exchange Steering Committee (PDF) was established to continue to improve shared information concerning regulated facilities and entities.

Enforcement Training Program
Lead: Mary Boyer, Air Resources Board

This Enforcement Training Steering Committee (PDF) was established to oversee implementation of the Cal/EPA Enforcement Training Policy, and launches a cross-BDO effort under the direction of the Assistant Secretary for Enforcement Education and Training to develop an Enforcement Training Program.

Enforceable Permits and Regulations
Lead: Paula Rasmussen, Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board

The Enforceable Permits Steering Committee (PDF) was established as the governing structure for the development and implementation of a system to assure that all environmental permits granted by Cal/EPA state and local programs are clear, coordinated, consistent and enforceable.
