Public Participation in Cal/EPA's EJ Program

The Cal/EPA Environmental Justice Advisory Committee (CEJAC) will hold a public meeting on May 31, 2007, scheduled to begin at 9:30 am and anticipated to end around 5:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the Coastal Hearing Room at the Cal/EPA Headquarters Building, located at 1001 I Street, in Sacramento, California. The CEJAC will receive an update on some of the ongoing pilot projects (as per the EJ Action Plan) and may make recommendations to the Secretary for Environmental Protection, to effectively accomplish the objectives of those projects. The draft meeting agenda and related meeting materials will be available 30 days prior to the meeting on the Cal/EPA Environmental Justice website at http://www.calepa.ca.gov/EnvJustice/Participation/. Any person wishing to receive a hardcopy of the agenda by U.S. mail must contact Ms. Malinda Dumisani at 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, envjustice@calepa.ca.gov, or (916) 445-9480 no later than May 24, 2007.

The CEJAC held a public meeting on April 16, 2007, at the Cal/EPA Headquarters Building to receive an update on some of the ongoing EJ projects (as per the EJ Action Plan), specifically, the SWRCB New River Pilot Project, CIWMB's Precautionary Approaches Guidance Development efforts and OEHHA's Cumulative Impacts Guidance Development efforts.

The CEJAC held a public meeting on October 13, 2006, at the Cal/EPA Headquarters Building to receive an update on some of the ongoing EJ projects (as per the EJ Action Plan). The CEJAC also discussed the recently completed OEHHA report, "Review of the 2001 Investigation and Cleanup of the Midway Village Residential Complex in Daly City, California".

The Cal/EPA Environmental Justice Interagency Working Group (IWG) held a public meeting on September 11, 2006 at the Cal/EPA Headquarters Building, in Sacramento, California. The IWG received an update on ongoing EJ projects (as per the EJ Action Plan) and discussed the recently completed report “Review of the 2001 Investigation and Cleanup of the Midway Village Residential Complex in Daly City, California”.
