The Cal/EPA Environmental Justice Program is a collaborative effort that includes Cal/EPA, and its Boards, Departments, and Office, and the Governor’s Office of Planning & Research. The objectives of the EJ Program will be accomplished through the coordinated efforts of these agencies alongside other EJ stakeholders such as community organizations and industry. The following contains a list of the partner agencies.
Cal/EPA Boards, Departments, and Offices
The mission of the California Environmental Protection Agency
(Cal/EPA) is to improve environmental quality in order to protect
public health, the welfare of our citizens, and California natural
resources. Cal/EPA will achieve its mission in an equitable,
efficient, and cost-effective manner.
The Cal/EPA Environmental Justice Program helps coordinate the efforts of the Cal/EPA boards, departments, and offices environmental justice activities:

Office
of Planning & Research
The Office of Planning and Research (OPR) is a part of the Governor's
Office, which assists the Governor and the Administration in land-use
planning, research, and liaison with local government, small business
advocacy, rural policy, environmental justice, and various interagency
task forces. The major activities of the office include: recommending
and implementing state policies with regard to land-use and growth
planning; carrying out a program of policy research for the Governor
and Cabinet; providing technical planning advice to local governments;
advising project proponents and government agencies on provisions of
the California Environmental Quality Act; operating the State
Clearinghouse for environmental and federal grant documents;
overseeing the California AmeriCorps Program; managing the Governor's
Innovation in Government program; involvement in the Governor's Task
Forces for Energy Reliability, Clean Energy, U.C. Merced, Brownfields,
and e-Government; and conducting such other activities as the Governor
may direct.
