Lisa Brown, Assistant General Counsel for Enforcement
Biography
Lisa is the Assistant General Counsel for Enforcement for the California Environmental Protection Agency.
Lisa started her career with the in the California Department of Food & Agriculture, Pesticide Enforcement Program. From 1986 to 1997 she was a Deputy District Attorney in San Joaquin County where she created the Environmental Prosecutions Unit and the San Joaquin County Environmental Crimes Strike Force. Lisa was a principle author in the development of the first statewide training materials for environmental prosecutors and has drafted several enforcement statutes.
Lisa currently chairs the State Environmental Enforcement Task Force and co-chairs the California Border Environmental Enforcement Task Force. She also oversees several enforcement training programs such as Cal/EPA's Basic Inspector Academy and the Cal/EPA Enforcement Symposium. She teaches on various enforcement subjects for the various entities including the California District Attorneys Association and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
Lisa received a BA in history from the University of Santa Clara and her JD from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
