Grants/Scholarships: Cal/EPA Environmental Enforcement
Environmental Enforcement and Training Grants (Penal Code §14300)
The California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA) has established the Environmental Enforcement and Training Grant Program as authorized by Penal Code sections 14300 et seq. and Title 27, Section 10014 of the California Code of Regulations. This program provides a non-general fund source of financial assistance for environmental enforcement, education and training to enhance statewide enforcement of environmental laws. Funding sources include donations from environmental enforcement settlements that provide for contribution to the fund.
Environmental Enforcement Training Scholarships
Scholarships are periodically available for government employees to attend environmental enforcement training. Funding for Cal/EPA scholarships comes from money designated for such use in state or federal court judgments in enforcement cases. These contributions are often referred to as Supplemental Environmental Projects or “SEPs”. No general fund money is used.
- A limited number of scholarships are currently available for the 15th Annual Cal/EPA Environmental Cross Media Enforcement Symposium (Due March 28, 2008).
